What are the differences between the RX 350 and the RX 350L?
Here at Pohanka Lexus we want to make shopping for a new vehicle easy and enjoyable. We often hear that customers are interested in the difference between the RX 350 and the RX 350L so we’ve gathered a few of the main details for the 2022 iterations!
Cargo Space and Passenger Capacity
We’ll start the main distinguishing feature between these two models – passenger capacity. All trims of the 2022 RX 350 come with two rows of seating and can accommodate up to five passengers. The RX 350L has additional body length to accommodate a 50/50 power-folding third row for either six or seven passengers max. Both come standard with a 40/20/40 split-folding second row with a recline function, but in the 2022 RX 350L you do have the option to have second-row captain’s chairs. When it comes to packing up groceries and other gear, the RX 350 has 16 cubic ft. of cargo space behind the second row and 32.7 cubic ft. of room behind the first row. In the RX 350L you’ll have 7.5 cubic ft. behind the third row. Thanks to the power-folding options you can easily format the cabin to meet the needs of your day.
Interior Features
When it comes to interior amenities, both vehicles have a base trim and a Black Line Special Edition trim for 2022. Both include many of the same standard features, such as NuLuxe® upholstery, an 8-inch Lexus Multimedia System, and a 9-speaker premium audio system. In the Black Line Special Edition for both the RX 350 and RX 350L you’ll have bold interior details that include open-pore black walnut trim, a heated wood and leather-trimmed steering wheel, plus a memory system for the driver’s seat. In the RX 350 Black Line Special Edition you’ll have black seats with white accents and gray stitching, whereas in the RX 350L Black Line Special Edition you’ll have black seats with blue stitching. Lastly, with the RX 350L you do have a three-zone automatic climate control compared to the dual-zone in the RX 350.
Performance
As you tackle your weekly to-do list in Alexandria, both of these vehicles are ready to offer impressive performance. They are equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine with dual Variable Valve Timing and are a Certified Ultra Low Emission Vehicle. The RX 350 has slightly more power at 295-hp and 268 lb.-ft. of torque but we are confident that you likely won’t notice much of a difference with the RX 350L’s 290-hp and 263 lb.-ft. of torque. Both vehicles have a 19.2 gallon fuel tank and require premium fuel to achieve maximum performance. You’ll see FWD as standard with the option to equip intelligent AWD if you’re interested in additional traction assistance. Another key aspect to note is that both vehicles achieve responsible efficiency with 20/27 MPG city/hwy1 for the RX 350 and 19/25 MPG city/hwy1 for the RX 350L.
