2026 Lexus NX 350 vs 2026 BMW X3 near Washington, DC

2026 Lexus NX 350 vs 2026 BMW X3 near Washington, DC2026 BMW X3 Exterior

2026 Lexus NX 350 (left) and 2026 BMW X3 (right) shown above with available features.

If you’re a stylish driver who is partial to highway adventures, a compact luxury SUV may be an appropriate choice for your lifestyle. However, with so many stellar vehicles in this segment, it can be difficult to determine which one offers the most value. For your convenience, our expert staff here at Pohanka Lexus has created this brief guide to highlight the differences between the 2026 Lexus NX 350 vs 2026 BMW X3!

Performance

The NX 350 features a standard 2.4L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine, and the X3 uses a standard 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Due to its larger size, the NX 350 has an edge on the X3’s base powertrain, achieving 275 horsepower1 and 317 lb.-ft. of torque2 compared to its competitor’s 255 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. For sharp angles and U-turns throughout your Washington, DC travels, the NX 350 also proves to be a bit more nimble than the X3. While the Lexus model has a turning circle of 38 ft., the BMW model has a slightly larger 40-ft. measurement. Although both models feature standard 8-speed automatic transmission, the NX 350 provides race-inspired paddle shifters for manual shifting on its base trim while the X3 only offers this feature as an available option.

Interior

For your chilly morning travels and sweltering summer heat, the 2026 Lexus NX 350 has you covered with its thoughtful climate control system. While both the NX 350 and X3 feature standard dual-zone automatic climate control, the Lexus model also includes a smog sensor to keep you informed during your next drive to East Potomac Park. The NX 350 also comes standard with a fast-response interior heater, which is not an available option with the X3. Additionally, while both models offer available ambient lighting technology, the NX 350 allows you to customize the interior using a precise RGB panel. This feature provides a near-endless selection of hues compared to the X3’s comparatively limited 15-option color and dynamic effect system.

Technology

To hear your favorite songs with enhanced clarity during your next trip to the United States National Arboretum, the NX 350 features an available Mark Levinson®3 17-speaker 1,800-watt PurePlay Surround Sound system. While the X3 does offer an available Harman Kardon® surround sound system, it packs a bit less of a punch with its 16 speakers. Additionally, the NX 350 includes standard Active Sound Control to cancel noise or boost engine sounds for a truly immersive drive. The X3 does provide a similar Active Sound Design feature that enhances mechanical noise, but it does not yet include noise cancellation. If you have tall passengers or a decent amount of luggage piled up in the back seats, the NX 350 also features an available Digital Rearview Mirror, which uses a camera to display a live feed of activity behind you. The X3 does not have any comparable features. If you’re as impressed with the 2026 Lexus NX 350 as we are, schedule a test drive with us today!
