Lexus EV Initiative
Although we donāt have a release date yet, the LF-Z Electrified Concept will be the first Lexus model to feature their all-new electric platform. This platform includes Direct4 technology to provide power to each axle as you commute around Chantilly and augmented reality for enhanced driver awareness. The LF-Z Electrified is part of a larger goal by Lexus to have 20 new alternative fuel vehicles by 2025, including BEVs, PHEVs, and HEVs. For many this will come as no surprise since the rise of electric vehicles is quickly becoming prominent for all brands, both luxury and non-luxury. According to a recent press release, Lexus aims to have electric versions for all of their models by 2025.
What We Know So Far
What can you expect from the LF-Z Electrified Contempt? An exterior design unlike anything weāve seen before from Lexus is evident from the initial concept images. A sleek and windswept silhouette is highlighted by an electrochromic roof that spans the entire cabin. Not only will it fill the interior with ample natural light, you can switch the roof to be opaque with a quick button. The front fascia includes signature Lexus elements, like the shape of the front grille and headlights, although in this case the grille area is all for show since the vehicle is electric. Deep side body curves and sharp geometric lines draw your attention. It will also have a low center of gravity for enhanced handling.
LF-Z Electified Technology Features
New technology abounds for both interior features and performance. The interior ambient lighting will have an expansive range of colors to match the mood of the drive or passenger. Creating a comprehensive cockpit feel will be three separate digital displays that all align with each other, including the center stack, instrument gauge, and a new additional screen on the left-hand side. Entering the LF-Z Electrified will be done via a button with the E-Latch doors or using your smartphone with the Digital Key that is currently offered on many Lexus vehicles. For performance, the Steer-by-Wire system takes the place of the usual steering mechanism and offers enhanced precision while also compensating for any road vibration.
We hope that this Lexus LF-Z Electrified Concept Vehicle first look in Chantilly, VA, gets you excited about the future of EVs! Contact Pohanka Lexus for the latest updates, including arrival dates and other electric options.
