The Lexus IS 300 comes with a standard four-cylinder engine rated at 241 horsepower. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, and power is sent to the rear wheels. A more powerful engine is available, a 260-horsepower 3.5L V6 that sends power to all four wheels. This version comes with a six-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration is actually better with the turbocharged four-cylinder, which provides good response to pressure on the gas pedal. However, an increased measure of confidence comes with having the big V6 under the good. The IS 350 comes with a 311-horsepower V6, and you get to choose rear- or all-wheel drive. It's suggested that both versions be taken for a test drive to see which engine suits your fancy.

Interior

The interior of the 2019 Lexus IS has an appealing if not roomy interior. Door seals are tight, and the color schemes are pleasant. Tightly fitted panels and wonderful seat stitching are the highlights. Ride comfort is exceptional thanks to the well-padded, nicely contoured front seats. The rear seating area is small, but entry and exit is no problem. You can also order a 15-speaker Mark Levinson stereo system so long as you include the navigation system.

Safety

Every 2019 Lexus IS comes with antilock brakes, stability and traction control, a rearview camera, and a full set of front and rear airbags. Automatic high-beam headlights, frontal collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic braking, and lane departure warning are also standard.
