Performance
Instead of a traditional V-8 engine, the all-new LS is powered by a turbocharged V-6 engine. Formula One racing technology helps it to develop a muscular 415 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Along with the new engine comes a new 10-speed automatic transmission. When tested on the track, the 2018 LS posted a scorching 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds. An optional F Sport Handling Package further enhances the car’s agility. Although the Lexus ES is not as quick as the new LS, it still offers lively acceleration. Its proven V-6 engine pushes out a satisfying 268 horsepower. You can also take advantage of the sedan’s great fuel efficiency, which tops out at 30 mpg.
Appearance
Both of these Lexus sedans have a sharp appearance. Like the 2017 Lexus ES, the all-new LS flaunts a stylish spindle grille and dual exhaust tips. Despite their similar styling cues, the upscale LS has a few more special touches. To give the redesigned LS a meaner stance than before, Lexus lowered it by 0.6 inches. The new LS is also the first Lexus in history to feature six side windows. If you desire an especially aggressive look, opt for the F Sport appearance package. It comes with a sleek body kit and a sporty set of 20-inch alloy wheels. An exclusive Ultra White paint job takes the LS F Sport’s curb appeal to the next level.
Safety
Lexus has earned a reputation for developing safe automobiles. The 2017 Lexus ES boasts a class-leading, five-star safety rating. Although the 2018 Lexus LS has yet to receive an official safety rating, expect its crash protection to be equally as impressive.
