Standard Features
The 2018 Lexus IS comes in a single trim, but buyers have plenty of add-on options. Standard features include a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, premium vinyl upholstery, split-folding rear seatbacks, and a 7-inch color screen display. Also standard are keyless entry and ignition, LED headlights, and heated side mirrors. Bluetooth and a 10-speaker sound system are included. Several packages are available including the Navigation package that adds on a remote mouse-type controller, a larger 10-inch display screen, and full navigation. The 2018 Lexus ES 300H boasts similar standard features, but the exterior is lighted exclusively by LED, and simulated leather upholstery is included on the base model. Siri Eyes Free is also included at no extra charge.
Safety Systems
The 2018 Lexus IS comes with standard lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control, but additional systems not normally found on a base trim are also included on this model. The forward collision warning and mitigation comes with pedestrian detection. Automatic braking is also standard. The Comfort package adds on blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The 2018 Lexus ES 300H and ES 350 are also loaded with standard safety features. Forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control are included. A rearview camera is standard as is the Lexus Safety Connect emergency telecommunications. Front and rear parking sensors are included in the available Luxury package, but they can also be added on as stand-alone options.
Driving Experience
The 2018 Lexus ES 300H is a hybrid model that combines a four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a total output of 200 horsepower. Transmission is continuously variable. The ES 350 has a 3.5L V6 rated at 268 horsepower. Automatic transmission sends the power to the front wheels. The 2018 Lexus IS 300 can be purchased with the 3.5L V6 or a more fuel-efficient turbocharged 2.0L engine rated at 241 horsepower. Both vehicles handle superbly, and the ES 350 boasts a very quiet interior and an exceptional suspension system.
