The 2018 Lexus LS sets out to change the way that owners view luxury. The crafted elements are truly like no other. The 2018 Lexus LSh is the hybrid edition. It shares all of the style but offers a strategic take on performance. Here’s a preview of how the two compare.

The LS500 has a twin-turbo V6. Direct fuel injection helps its twin turbochargers spit out 415 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque. It zooms from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds. If you are familiar with the outgoing LS460, you’ll notice that this turbo V6 replaces the V8 and still maintains the level of power you’d expect for this premium SUV. A first-in-class ten-speed automatic helps it conquer the road.

The LS500h utilizes Atkinson-cycle V6 technology that is rated for 295 horsepower. It adds the power of two electric motors and a lightweight battery to generate 354 horsepower. With all of these elements in play, the hybrid can handle the sprint in just 5.2 seconds. Unlike many hybrids, there is nothing slow about this ride.

The LS500 has set the bar high. It won the EyesOn Design Award for interior design. Both the regular and hybrid models benefit from the Lexus focus on progressive comfort. Since the LS500 and its hybrid are the flagships of the Lexus sedan fleet, the automaker has set the bar high. Each element has been examined as to how it upholds the standards of innovation, Japanese aesthetics, craftsmanship, and true luxury. Using lasers, the finest woods, and the oldest crafting techniques, Takumi crafters have combined different color woods to create original designs with distinctive grain patterns and sharper light/dark contrasts. The pleated door trim is done by hand. The world’s first use of Kiriko glass adds to the finery. Underlying all of this style, a new build helps improve ride quality.

The new LS500 is even bigger than last year’s model. It gains 1.3 inches in backseat legroom. Shoppers can expect high-end standards such as power door closers and power seat-belt height adjusters. Leather covers the seats and other surfaces. The power-adjusting seats are offered with heat, ventilation and massage. These chairs may adjust in 28 directions, taking care of your body while you handle the stresses of the road. Updated for faster processing and greater ease of use, a touch interface with a large display screen brings you navigation and internet streaming radio. Extensive sound insulation and noise-reduction engineering ensure the quiet ride you deserve when you buy a luxury brand.

With the emergence of the all-new LS500 and LS500h, Lexus takes you to the crossroads where fine design meets expert technology. Take time out of your busy week to enjoy a test drive at Pohanka Lexus.
